We strive to aid causes that are priorities to our communities, including the fight against hunger, support for military service members and their families, relief to those affected by extreme weather and natural disasters, and championing belonging, inclusion and diversity by combating social injustice to bridge the gap of inequities faced by many individuals, families and communities. Fighting Hunger
At Winn-Dixie, we believe it is our responsibility to help families put food on the table, and we are passionate about nurturing our local communities. Southeastern states regularly rank within in the top 10 for highest food insecurity rates in the country, with millions of people experiencing hunger daily. Since 2005, we have partnered with Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and local Feeding America partner food banks to fight food insecurity in the communities we serve. Over the course of our long-standing partnership, we strive to provide more accessible means to nutritious food for our neighbors in need.

America’s Heroes
To honor our brave military members and their families who sacrifice so much for our country, we show our gratitude by ensuring the bearers of their legacies can reach their educational dreams. Our long-standing partner, Folds of Honor, is a dedicated nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled military members. Winn-Dixie has proudly donated millions of dollars to fund life-changing scholarships to honor our country’s heroes and support the success of their family members. We also support active service members and their families in partnership with local chapters of the United Service Organization (USO) throughout the year to serve active-duty military, National Guard and active reserve members.

Disaster Relief
At Winn-Dixie, we have decades of experience serving customers in coastal states. Our communities have weathered many storms, and we know firsthand the devastation severe weather can leave in its wake. We have partnered with the American Red Cross for more than 70 years to help our community members recover and rebuild when disaster strikes. Our teams strive to keep stores open before and after severe weather, and we mobilize to provide relief to those in our communities who are affected.

Belonging, Inclusion & Diversity
As a people-first company, Winn-Dixie is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where we celebrate differences and empower everyone to be their true, authentic selves inside and outside our stores. In 2020, we launched the Romay Davis Belonging, Inclusion and Diversity Grant program to support local nonprofit organizations that address racial disparities in health care, food insecurity and education. The grant is named for Ms. Romay Davis who lived to age 104 and was a World War II veteran, inspiring trailblazer and beloved longtime Winn-Dixie associate. Organizations that operate within our footprint can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to aid their vital work towards a more equitable world for all. We have proudly donated over $1 million to deserving organizations across the Southeast through the grant program.

Community Bag with a Giving Tag
Give back to your community while helping the planet! At Winn-Dixie, we care deeply for the communities we serve and also remain committed to responsible environmental stewardship. Through our Community Bag with a Giving Tag program, customers can easily make a difference as $1 of each purchase of the $2.99 reusable bags goes to benefit a local nonprofit in the community. The specially designed reusable bags are from recycled materials and can be found in all Winn-Dixie grocery stores in the Southeast.

Health and Happiness
We are steadfast in our dedication to support the health and happiness of our associates, customers and communities. Throughout the year, Winn-Dixie supports several health initiatives from hardworking partners, including the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® campaign, specialty programs at local pediatric hospitals and the American Heart Association.
Supporting Education
Winn-Dixie believes in the power of learning at all stages of life, and we take pride in championing educational opportunities for people of all backgrounds. We partner with local schools to provide essential funds to ensure staff and educators have the supplies and resources they need most to set their students up for success during the school year. Throughout our footprint, we encourage students to find empowerment through education by supporting local organizations working to promote early literacy and learning equity, as well as aiding physical education and extracurricular athletic programs.
