Worldly Wanderlust celebrates the spirit of adventure that leads one on the path to discovery. And after having traversed the roads leading to all four corners of the Cabernet Sauvignon making world, we have achieved vinous enlightenment – perhaps the single most underrated terroir for this noble red grape is Lodi, California. This warm region of Northern California produces big, rich, bold and spicy Cabs that are unbelievably consistent across vintages, and always intense and concentrated. No matter where you are on your personal wine quest, a stop in Lodi is immensely gratifying and utterly illuminating.
Worldly Wanderlust’s aromas and flavors of this wine span the sensorial globe, from dark fruits to kitchen spices, along with earth tones and a smoky, meaty undercurrent. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is ripe with flavors that meander across the palate like a well-worn path, visiting red cherries, blackberries, clove and bacon fat notes along the way. A stunning, lingering, chocolatey finish with crunchy minerality and lively rockiness ends with a crunchy tannic edge and a horizon that stretches wide and far across the palate.
Since the introduction of classic wine grape varieties to California by the Spanish in the 18th century, wine has played a substantial role in not just the state’s economy, but as a metaphor for the state’s ability to produce the very best in agricultural products, enjoyed by millions of people in every corner of the United States. The terroir is as varied as the geography, with hundreds of grape varieties being grown, and wine produced in 48 counties.
Lodi is a warm-climate region in the interior of the state, where vineyards are planted alongside the state’s famous citrus and nut crops. One of the first places where winemaking was realized, Lodi contributes something different and special to the patchwork of California wine, and Cabernet is no stranger to these rolling, dusty hills. In Lodi, there is plenty of sunshine to ensure a wine like Worldly Wanderlust’s powerful, opulent personality, but the cool air brought in from the Sacramento River Delta helps to preserve structure and a savory, old world appeal. This convergence of old and new is reflected in the character of Lodi wine, and Worldly Wanderlust is uniquely qualified to recalibrate your perception of what defines a great California Cabernet.
Chardonnay is a wine that simply evokes beauty. As implied in the name of this lovely Cali white, the type of diversity that one finds in a beautiful rose garden is reflected in the myriads of styles and growing locations of Chardonnay, perhaps the world’s most noble white wine variety. La Bella Roseraie takes its inspiration from this panoply of styles, expressed in a wine that speaks to all the different sides of Chardonnay. Equal parts creamy and bright, round and focused, fruity and mineral, La Bella Roseraie is a site to behold, and pure joy to drink.
La Bella Roseraie is beautifully aromatic, with scents of tropical and orchard fruit to greet the nose as it meanders, sniffing around the rim of the glass. Our California Chardonnay is ripe and forward, featuring notes of pears, yellow apples and subtle pineapple notes on the finish. A kiss of vanilla oak and buttercream on the finish helps balance the wine’s natural, vibrant acidity.
Chardonnay is perhaps the most versatile and adaptable white wine grape in the world, not to mention the most popular. In California, Chardonnay has found immediate and lasting success, well respected as the queen of white wine varieties, planted in every corner of the state, each producing a unique and delicious wine style. This regional diversification is the key to Chardonnay’s popularity among both winemakers and consumers - California chardonnay adapts incredibly well to the specific growing circumstances in which it’s planted.
La Bella Roseraie hails from Lodi, an inland region in the northern part of the state, where grape growing has thrived since the dawn of the state’s winegrowing industry. Lodi’s unique terroir provides Chardonnay the ability to consistently develop rich, round flavors that provide immense up-front pleasure, unabashedly fruity and never shy.
Zinfandel indeed casts a long shadow over California wine history in general, and the northern part of the state in particular. This quintessentially American grape variety, Northern California is home to a majority of the state’s Zinfandel plantings, with a history of being vinified for fine wine since the mid-1800’s. Shadow represents the history and historic potential of Northern California and it’s winemaking tradition in an easy-drinking, jammy red wine from a viticultural region synonymous with great Zinfandel.
Wild and untamed, our California Zin offers aromas of ripe berry fruit, white pepper and cigar box. Juicy on the palate, Shadow is dark and fans out nicely on the palate, where a blackberry / raspberry flavor mélange is echoed by hints of spice and forest floor. A mouth-coating finish leaves an impression of cracked pepper and coffee.
Northern California is a beautiful region, where the coastal ridges that extend north of San Francisco Bay are home to some of the state’s most well-known vineyards. Studded with coastal pines, craggy ridges and fresh, crisp ocean air, the region has always attracted adventurous souls, independent and self-sufficient.
Unsurprising, then, that it is here that some of the first vineyard plantings took place, with many of the original plantings dedicated to the state's heritage grape variety, Zinfandel. Here, winemakers live life to the fullest and, in turn, produce Zinfandel wines expressing a bold vitality and brash personality.
The world of wine is a vast, wide-open one, and as far as the eye can see, there extend virtually unlimited possibilities, and no matter what direction you follow or journey you decide to take, in front of you lies a boundless horizon as your set your sights. Open Sea was set adrift in the rocky canyons of the Columbia Valley wine region in Washington State, where the vineyards are awash with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes that yield expansive, thrilling wines. Open Sea reflects both the region’s natural beauty, but also the warm, sunny climate that produced this ripe, broad, fleshy wine that is perfect no matter where your breezes might be blowing you.
The vineyards that produce this unique white are grown in one of Washington State’s best terroirs – where cool river breezes meet the warm, dry inland interior. This attention-grabbing, captivating white blend is fresh and bright, with crisp citrus and apple fruit on the palate and a zippy acidity that lends a mouthwatering character to the finish.
While by no means a traditional blend, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc share a long history. These are iconic varieties, responsible for a huge amount of the world’s greatest white wines, from Bordeaux to Burgundy and from Canberra to California. Each of course brings a unique character to this iconoclastic white blend, which pairs Chardonnay’s celebrated richness and creamy texture with Sauvignon Blanc’s sunny personality and bright acidity.
Despite the lack of proximity, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc wines can share a certain similarity – a blend of fruity and savory elements, racy mouthfeel, and vibrant acidity. Open Sea blends Old World classic grape varieties, whose classic expressions are reinterpreted in one of the New World’s up and coming viticultural hotspots.
While last year’s Cubist portrait painted a picture of California’s agricultural splendor, for this year’s calendar we’ve decided to portray the great undulating, wind-swept hills of the Columbia River Valley in Washington state. When discussing the possibility of this latest Cubist iteration with our winemaker, he leapt at the chance to work with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, the state’s best-known red grapes, as well as Cabernet Franc and Merlot to give Cubist a Bordeaux-like texture and structure. The best works of art are always those that blend old traditions with new ideas, the concept guiding the hand that makes Cubist.
Red flower and kirsch on the nose, this polished Washington red opens with a smorgasbord of juicy red fruit notes on the nose. On the palate, this harmonious red blend features ripe fruit with a jammy richness. Full bodied, ripe and juicy, this wine evolves with layers of complexity and finishes long, soft and expressive.
Not your average domestic wine, Cubist was created with the idea to take inspiration from Bordeaux, where blending grapes to produce a wine of balance and complexity is commonplace. We applied the same philosophy to fruit from some of the best vineyards in the New World, first in California and now in Washington State, to produce a new, unique expression – a burst of color on the vinous canvas.
Just as lithe, elegant and refined as the California Cubist, Washington’s picture is painted in a bold, plump wine that is both fruit-driven and well framed by polished, grippy tannins – a wine that truly displays the character of the Columbia Valley region; a story told by some of it’s most famous grapes. Far from your average domestic wine, Cubist Red Blend is a novel idea brought to life by adventurous, intrepid winemakers with an iconoclastic, independent streak.
Petite Sirah is, like a Lunar Fairy, a whimsical idea, a story of two notions that don’t seem to correspond but combine to make something magical. Why is it that, with a name like “petite” and a vine that produces such small berries, Petite Sirah produces massive, intensely extracted wines? The key, as with all wines, is location, and Lunar Fairy is grown in the Lodi region of California. Here, the warm, dry climate necessitates a grape variety well accustomed to these viticultural extremes and Petite Sirah, with origins in Southern France is well up to the task. Lunar Fairy celebrates Petite Sirah, one of California’s true heritage wines.
Lunar Fairy has a nose that must be witnessed to be believed, with aromas of spice and floral notes - an beguiling mix of violets, lavender and mint. Lunar Fairy pours dark and deep, where a core of wild berry and plum fruit is accented with black licorice and a distinct minerality on the finish, where the plush, velvety tannins kick in and add traction.
The size and scope of Petite Sirah’s popularity unfortunately outweighs by far its availability. Virtually unheard of outside of California, this celebrated variety is prized by winemakers everywhere for it’s viticultural resiliency and the robust, darkly colored and floral scented wines it produces. It is a true California viticultural success story, one of the few wine styles that can truly be said to have originated in the Golden State.
Lodi versions are well known by lovers of the classic Petite Sirah style, rustic, dense and bold. The best versions of Lodi Petite Sirah are known to age decades, and even in the Cabernet country of Napa this ironically named variety is inspiring interest and beginning to turn heads. No matter where in the state its’ grown, however, Petite Sirah has an unmistakably warm, generous California character that we are proud to share with you by dispatching our Lunar Fairy.
California Sauvignon Blancs have earned their reputation as among the world’s benchmarks, and it is the Golden State’s coastal vineyards that are the reference point for American Sauvignon Blanc. Here on the flanks of these gently cascading ridges it achieves levels of fruit intensity and aromatic freshness like nowhere else in the world, due to California’s perfect grape growing climate, sandy soils and the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean. Between our winemaker’s forward-thinking nature and access to world-class Sauvignon Blanc fruit, Tiki Tok is proud to offer you this fresh, fruity white well worthy of the accolades that California has received for its Sauvignon Blanc wines.
Classic aromas of grapefruit, kiwi and freshly cut grass leap from the glass, and the chiseled, intensely focused palate features notes of gooseberry, lime and granny smith apple. It is a particular pride that we hold for the place we call home and the honor of farming these spectacular vineyards that drives Tiki Tok to strive for the pinnacle of quality with our California Sauvignon Blanc.
Despite making wine for hundreds of years, California has only relatively recently seen a renaissance of wine quality, and the realization of its potential as a world-class wine powerhouse. Sauvignon Blanc is one of California’s premier white wines, with an immediately identifiable character of freshness, brightness and imminent drinkability. California Sauvignon Blancs are well known for a fruit-forward flavor profile and a tendency to refresh the palate rather than dull it.
Visitors are always welcome in California, and the wine regions are particularly spectacular. There, winemakers foster a love of cooking, enjoying the fruits of their labor, and time spent outside in unblemished nature. California winemakers are truly linked to their land – the rivers course through their veins, their hands are coarse and rocky like their soil, and their faces weathered from the ever-present sun. When you Tiki Tok, you taste California tradition, dedication, and pride.
Winemakers and musicians have much in common. Both jobs require long hours and constant practice in an effort to fine tune their output and make sure that their art is delivered to their fans in the most perfect fidelity possible. And while any oenology grad or session musician can read a wine recipe or sheet music to reproduce the same expression in each performance, the truly gifted like to go off script, to produce something that has never been experienced before and impossible to duplicate. Just Riffin red blend is the perfect expression of a place and time, bottled at the crescendo of its’ performance.
Just Riffin red blend utilizes grapes grown in some of the Columbia River Valley’s best vineyards, a place well regarded for the quality and unique expressions of the red blends produced there. Just Riffin is layered and complex, juicy on the midpalate and supple tannins on the finish. Sumptuous red fruit is backed by hints of vanilla and cardamom, and Just Riffin features enough natural acidity to make a natural pairing with a wide variety of cuisine.
When most people think of Washington State, they think of rain, chilly temperatures and gloomy weather. The reality of the Columbia River wine appellation couldn’t be any further from this stereotype, as this sunny, warm region receives abundant sunshine and features a long, gentle growing season that assures consistent ripening from year to year.
No surprise, then, that red varieties make up a majority of the vineyard plantings, as these warm, dry, breezy viticultural conditions are perfect for grapes that would otherwise struggle with both reaching maturity and succumbing to disease pressure from year to year. This positive influence that the Columbia Valley lends to Just Riffin grapes helps to produce a wine that is plushly textured and fruity, with good acidity and balanced tannins.
Last year’s vintage of Flocking Fabulous introduced the potential of Rosé wines grown under sunny California skies. Every grape variety thrives in the Golden State’s warm climate, ripening slowly and evenly, all while being refreshed by the mists of the Pacific Ocean. Flocking Fabulous Rosé is a fresh, lively expression of this viticultural bounty, with a taste of California sunshine offered in every sip.
Flocking Fabulous’ personality is that of a zesty, dynamic, snappy and fresh wine. Strawberry, raspberry, watermelon and peony on the nose leads to a fruit cocktail in the glass, with a frank, fruity nature, a well-defined, juicy palate and brisk, mineral finish.
California Rosé used to have a bad rap. In the beginning, wines were made in a heavy-handed style, producing wines that were closer to light-bodied reds than the fresh, elegant style they are known for today. Ask any wine drinker today, however, and they’ll tell you that, thankfully, this outdated stereotype no longer applies to a wine region that is on the forefront of producing lively, refreshing wines that tickle the taste buds and dance across the palate.
There is an incredible amount of diversity being produced among California Rosé wines and Flocking Fabulous takes inspiration from the new generation of California winemakers working to raise the profile of the state’s pink wines. Today’s California Rosés are unique to their place of origin, tend towards a dryer style, and make a fabulous match for almost any type of cuisine. Inside each bottle of Flocking Fabulous is a taste of what makes California Rosé so great – a lively, energetic elixir with a focus on fresh fruit flavors and lively acidity.
It is indeed a great night anytime Tempranillo is involved. The next big thing in red wine, ready to take the baton from Cabernet and Pinot Noir? Look no further than Tempranillo, a grape whose plantings are on the rise world-wide. Tempranillo’s ability to maintain freshness and vibrancy even as vintages trend in a hotter direction every year are a critical reason why this may be the grape of the future, but there’s also its’ fruity/savory/spicy flavor profile - well-adapted to please a wide cross section of palates. Gran Noche cheers to the sun setting on a day of boring wines, where this California Tempranillo will carry us into an evening that promises to be just as joyful as the Spanish temperament in its native country.
Wild, exotic aromas of sweet leather, cola and macerated cherry greet the Winn Dixie holiday shopper as Gran Noche hits the glass. Full bodied on the palate, yet brisk thanks to a vibrant, mineral spine, Gran Noche features plum and baking spice flavors on the palate, as well as the high-toned cherry hinted at in the bouquet. Our California Tempranillo finishes warm and long.
Tempranillo is an ancient grape, with records of its cultivation on the Iberian Peninsula dating back to at least the 9th century. Despite being a recent transplant to California, Tempranillo is starting to make its presence felt in the crowded wine marketplace due to its ability to produce wines with moderate alcohol even in warm climates, while still retaining natural acidity – a trait crucial in the pursuit of freshness in red wine.
It’s really hard to go wrong when considering Tempranillo as the wine selection for virtually any soirée. Casual wine fans will appreciate it’s fruitiness and plush texture, while wine geeks love its savory side and the complexity of its aromatic profile. Most importantly, however, Tempranillo wines pair well with many party foods, from small plates to barbecue. Our California Tempranillo, as its name implies, turns any ordinary get-together into a Gran Noche!
The passage from grape to wine is not a boring one, an adventure that is particularly exhilarating in the case of Pinot Gris. From vine to bottle, so much care and attention to detail is necessary along the way so as to produce the fruity, light-bodied, elegant Pinot Gris styles that we love. Indeed, the grapes naturally possess a grayish-purple skin that can easily leach color and tannin into a wine that quickly becomes no longer white! Live For Adventure Pinot Gris puts the pedal to the gas in making a wine that is racy, wild and direct, a perfect reflection of the thrill ride in the cellar that every vintage represents.
Live For Adventure excites the palate with a rush of pear, white peach, jasmine and honey notes. This full-throttled Pinot Gris is fruit forward and complex, with notes of jasmine and orange blossom echoed on the finish along with a jolt of stony minerality.
Balance and structure. Two words that perfectly describe the landscape of the Columbia River Valley, where massive, rocky cliffs are perched precariously over its mighty namesake river, plowing its way through this warm region on an unstoppable course to the Pacific Ocean. And while constantly shifting, rounding and evolving, the landscape manages to hold on, a perfect metaphor for the wines produced there.
This balance and structure are key components of what makes a Columbia River Pinot Gris so special. While the warm climate and seemingly endless sunshine of the region gives the wines more than enough fruity charm, there is a focus, a linearity to the wines that recall the Old World styles. This equilibration between fruitiness and intensity plays out in a wine of balance and structure, where Live For Adventure Pinot Gris will have you holding on to your vinous hat from sip to exhilarating sip.
Regina Dei Vini is Washington Cabernet, sourced from the state’s most celebrated winegrowing region. The soils of the Columbia River Valley are sparse and sandy, forcing the Cabernet Sauvignon roots to plunge deep into the earth to search for water, a struggle which is reflected in the finished wine's bracing, vivid fruit character and firm spine. The Columbia River Valley is an extreme terroir, and Regina Dei Vini is correspondingly bold, wild, with a flavor profile and a textural finesse that is pure Washington Cabernet on the edge.
Our Washington Cabernet is marked by a sweet, red fruit character that is a perfect reflection of the orchards found where Regina Dei Vini is grown – plums, cherries and raspberries. Muscular and concentrated, this singular expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from the frontier of winegrowing is full bodied and intense, yet also polished and elegant.
Don’t look now, but Washington State wines are on the rise. Today the second-largest wine producing state in the U.S., Washington’s conversion from wine backwater to center of innovation has been meteoric, and Cabernet Sauvignon in particular has elicited significant critical praise and consumer attention. Yet somehow Washington wines still continue to fly under the radar – a great thing for the value-minded consumer, as the quality to price ratio continues to be among the best in the New World.
Local Winemakers will tell you that the diversity in local geology makes growing almost anything possible, and the warm climate ensures the even ripening of virtually every grape variety. Yet again, Washington’s ability to consistently produce world-class wine is like a closely guarded secret – with abundant sunshine, long and dry growing season and cool nighttime temperatures that regulate sugar accumulation, it’s almost as if the wines make themselves. Regina Dei Vini is more than just a Washington Cabernet, it’s a glass-by-glass effort to raise the profile of the state’s wine reputation.
Colombard was first brought to California in the mid-19th century and has been a fixture of the state’s wine industry ever since. Peaking in popularity in the 1970’s as the state’s most planted grape variety, Colombard was a victim of its own success as it became synonymous with good, but cheap, box wine. This led to a decrease in acreage, which in turn has fostered a quality spike in Colombard, as today many vineyards are found in ideal locations for this historic grape variety. Lapin Chanceux is a fruity, crisp, fresh wine representing Colombard as the state’s wine growing pioneers intended.
Lapin Chanceux is a light bodied and crisp, tart white wine sourced from one of California’s oldest growing regions. Our classically styled California Colombard features green apple, honeydew melon and green almond flavors, chased by an electric, mineral finish riding on a wave of fresh acidity.
Whoever the lucky rabbit is drinking this crisp, bright, refreshing, they’ve now been clued in to one of the most exciting trends in California white wine, one that every fine wine sommelier from San Diego to San Francisco has been aware of for some time – the state’s heritage varieties are in high demand.
The wines synonymous with the Golden Age of California wine – Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Chenin Blanc and in our case, Colombard – are being re-evaluated, and, after a period of decline, well on their way to proving the potential that the great-grandparents of the current winemaking generation had identified when they first planted the state’s fine wine vineyards.
Shiraz, or Syrah depending on either who you talk to or winemaker style, has been present in California wine country since the 19th century. Despite this long history, it wasn’t until the Australia’s Shiraz boom in the last few decades that the needle started to move for Shiraz in the New World, but a new day has come for this prolific variety. Plantings have increased by more than 500% in the last 25 or so years, and quality has never been higher. One Fine Day celebrates the new dawn of recognition for California Shiraz, a uniquely fortuitous combination of grape and place just recently getting its due.
California Shiraz generally produces a fresher, more structured, spicier wine than their Australian cousins. One Fine Day has a focus on blackberry, black cherry and black pepper notes on the palate. On the finish, One Find Day fans out on the palate and finishes on a smoky, meaty note and a lingering spicy aftertaste.
The rise in success of California Shiraz has a lot to do with just a few adventurous winemakers. A cadre of visionaries became convinced of the grape’s potential to produce wines that equaled the quality of those made in France (and later, Australia) and dedicated much of their careers to showing these vinous treasures to the rest of the wine world. Their efforts have paid off, and today the best U.S. Shiraz are just as coveted by collectors as premier examples of the grape as those found anywhere else in the world.
One Fine Day tips its cap to the originators of the Shiraz style, the great winemakers down under in Australia. Our wine aims to deliver the opulent fruit character and generosity of flavor that one expects from Aussie Shiraz, while tempering the exuberance with a dose of California structure and savory elegance. The dawn of One Find Day signals a new vinous order, a revitalization of California Shiraz.
he Riesling grape is one of the true heritage grapes of Washington State. Present since the dawn of the state’s grape growing industry, Washington Riesling has exploded in popularity, echoing Washington’s spectacular ascension in the reputation and availability of its fine wines. Today Washington has more Riesling grapevines than any other U.S. state – a fact that is the source of great pride among Columbia Valley winegrowers. Washington winemakers have learned a thing or two about what it takes to make great Riesling, a savoir faire we are thrilled to share with you in every glass of Bohemian Columbia Valley Riesling.
ff dry and easy drinking, Bohemian Riesling works just as well as an aperitif as the perfect close to a great meal. Intensely floral, Bohemian’s allure and charm begins with its bouquet. On the palate, however, there is a surprising amount of mouth-presence, with a cornucopia of tropical fruit flavors and an exhilarating, tense, zippy finish.
Riesling is a finicky grape variety that favors a long, dry growing season to ripen slowly and develop the aromatic pre-cursors that make a glass of great Riesling smell like no other wine. Washington’s optimal climate for Riesling also contributes to the coaxing of an unbelievably complex flavor profile in the wines. And the best part? Vintners are afforded the luxury of harvesting when they choose as it corresponds to the style of wines they are making, leading to a mind-blowing variety of world-class Rieslings being grown in Washington.
Bohemian Riesling is made in the classic, German style with a kiss of residual sugar allowed to remain in the finished wine to balance out the brisk, tart acidity. This balance of sugar and acid is what defines great, classic style Riesling – the interplay between succulent and rich, racy, and electric. Washington State Riesling is ascending, and Bohemian makes it easy for the Winn Dixie holiday shopper to come along for the rise.
Spazzato Dal Vento, Italian for “windswept”, perfectly describes the coastal California vineyards that were the source for this lighter-style Sauvignon Blanc. Foggy by day, blustery by night, the vines are planted at the edge of where viticulture is possible. In our Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, the growing period is a constant battle for sun exposure, and an unrelenting pursuit of nutrients within the sparse soils into which the roots plunge. This struggle is reflected in every bottle of Spazzato Dal Vento, a breezy, minerally Sauvignon Blanc brought to you from the edge of the country, bringing you to the edge of your seat.
Spazzato Dal Vento is extremely aromatic, with a strong emphasis on fruit purity. The flavor profile focuses on a combination of citrus fruit and fresh herbs, with a stony, racy finish that both quenches the thirst of a hot summer’s day and provides a beautiful pairing to almost any meal.
The affable, easy-going character of Spazzato Del Vento reflects perfectly its origins in the Golden State. Here, life moves at a slower pace, people smile and say “hi” on the street and time is always set aside to enjoy the consistently beautiful, warm weather that the state is blessed with.
All of the cultural elements that make our slice of coastal California unique are present in every bottle of Spazzato Del Vento. You taste the lemon-squeeze salinity of riding the nearby waves and the breezy sunshine in every brisk, vibrant sip. What’s more, each taste of precisely focused Spazzato Del Vento reflects the dedication of our winemaking team, and every sip channels the same wild, untamed feeling we get when harvesting these Sauvignon Blanc grapes, surrounded by unspoiled nature.
A winemaker’s job is seemingly never done, and pulling all-nighters is a reality of life on the vineyard. Whether treating the vineyards, midnight punch-downs, or early morning bottling runs, the winemaker is constantly in motion, tirelessly juggling many tasks as well as, in the case of From Dusk Til Dawn, many grape varieties. Our California Red Blend celebrates daily life on the wine farm, with all its complexity, diversity and dedication reflected in every glass.
Big, bold, and warm-hearted, From Dusk Til Dawn is an all-nighter of a wine, perfect for night-owls, restless dreamers and dance ‘til you droppers. Bold and ripe, with a firm, dense core, From Dusk Til Dawn is packed with generous dark fruit flavors and concentrated tannins, From Dusk Til Dawn provides plenty of power and muscle while still retaining elegance and style.
There is a reason that wines from the inland valleys of California are experiencing a renaissance – the secret is out about the amalgamation of factors that make it such a special place for grape growing. Central California’s history, its viticultural know-how passed from generation to generation, as well as a climate perfectly suited for red grapes making rich, full-bodied wines make it perfectly poised to appease U.S. wine drinkers’ craving for bold, spicy red wines.
These are not wimpy, spineless red wines, and From Dusk Til Dawn is a prefect representation of what the region does best - opulent, fruit-forward wines with breadth and depth. Quality is rising every year as the region shakes off its reputation as a viticultural backwater and welcomes young winemakers searching for vineyards that are acclimated to the ever-warming vintages that seem assured to continue. We are thrilled with the region’s potential, as is our (often nocturnal) winemaking team to share this bottle with you.
The tango is all about passion, attitude and excitement, traits that are perhaps not surprising as they apply as well to Americans, who helped popularize this sensual dance. The tango, however, originated in Argentina, and is not the only link between this beautiful country and its larger, brasher neighbor to the North. Just as the tango made the transition nicely, so has the Malbec grape found massive popularity, first in Argentina, and now in the U.S. Malbec has certainly seduced the Midnight Tango winemaking team, and this spicy, exotic California red is ready to hit the dance floor with you.
Our California Malbec explodes out of the glass with an aroma that is distinct and simply riveting – crushed violets, blackberry, and graphite. Vibrant and focused, these flavors are echoed on the palate, where Midnight Tango is creamy-textured and supple.
What a whirlwind adventure Malbec has experienced in its voyage to worldwide recognition – from Bordeaux to Argentina, and now to sunny California. Stamped on Midnight Tango‘s vinous passport are influences from all Malbec’s previous stops: the mineral, pencil lead character and firm tannins recalling French versions, and the plump fruit and spice so appreciated in Argentina.
Just like the Tango brings its own flavor and spirit to the ballroom dance, so does California impart a certain warmth and friendliness to the finished wine. Ironically, it only took a few decades for both the Tango and Malbec wine to rise to international prominence. Tasting the balance and elegance in every glass of Midnight Tango Malbec convinces us that whether in a pair of dancing shoes or a glass, the same vibrant spirit is found both in dance and wine.
There is a saying in Northern Italy, the native home of Pinot Grigio – no meal without wine, no wine without character. Taking not just their cue but also working with their favorite white wine variety, Spring Blossoms winemakers have tapped into the California wine country’s native Italian roots and made a wine that would make Nonna proud. Spring Blossoms is ebullient, joyful, and energetic – full of both local California character and the Italian tradition of pairing wonderfully with almost any meal.
Spring Blossoms is effusively aromatic, with a bouquet that hints of citrus fruit and fresh cut flowers. A lively mouthfeel, clean and fruit-driven palate and a refreshing finish speak to Spring Blossoms’ commitment to uphold the lofty quality standards of today’s great California white wines, and also pay respect to our Italian ancestors and their longtime love affair with Pinot Grigio.
All perennial crop-bearing plants, like grapevines, re-express themselves through an annual cycle of rebirth, growth and flowering. For wine, at harvest time, each vintage is marked by not only the weather during that growing season, but also the climate, culture and experience of the land and people that grew it. Our California Pinot Grigio speaks to the tradition of the Italian immigrants who came to California in the 19th century, with little more than the change in their pockets and the viticultural know-how passed on to them from generations of accumulated experience.
Spring Blossoms pays homage to the Italian style, with its light, crisp mouthfeel, citrusy flavor profile and racy acidity. But wine is ultimately made from the fruit of its location, and it’s the California richness of texture and generosity of flavor that make Spring Blossoms such a unique rendition of this traditional Italian grape variety.
Wine, like all artforms, shapes it’s medium to reflect the vision of the artist. But, with wine, not all palates are the same, and the shapes rendered by each grape variety on the canvas differ by its type – be it full or narrow, ample, or lean. Merlot is certainly drawn in large brushstrokes, round and thick, appreciated by even the most demanding of critics in the four corners of the wine world. Moda Illustrata is a classic California Merlot, whose velvety tannins and plump, fruity mouthfeel paint a picture of a wine that is as easy on the palate as it is the eyes.
Moda Illustrata combines classic and contemporary in a wine that is both rich and textured yet bright and lively, Full-bodied yet supple, dark-fruited yet elegant and savory, Moda Illustrata is a study in contrasts, and its layered mouthfeel and soft, rounded edges are a fine testament to the heights that California can reach with Merlot.
Where the combination of environmental factors is right – warm climate, well-draining soils, abundant sunshine – Merlot makes a distinctive wine, dark fruited with soft tannins and a touch of spice. With its luscious, accessible taste profile, Moda Illustrata Merlot draws a fine picture of one of the world’s great red wine varieties.
Merlot vines are perfectly suited to the sandy, sunny vineyards of California. Responsible for some of the Golden State’s most revered red wines, this legendary variety achieves levels of voluptuousness and opulence rarely found anywhere else, something unique to California versions of Merlot. Merlot is a wonderful insight into the marriage of grape and terroir, and to the place that Merlot wines holds in local traditions and customs – and when the California hand holds the brush, the strokes are broad and wide.
We introduced Pink Tutu to Winn Dixie holiday shoppers last year, having chosen it for its ability to bridge the gap between the qualities we cherish in both red and white wines. After all, Rosé wines taste good in any weather, pair well with virtually any food, and are universally loved for their ability to appeal to both red and white wine drinkers alike. Put on the Pink Tutu and let the show go on, a nimble, impeccably balanced California Rosé that is a perfect fit for any wine drinking occasion.
Pink Tutu is a graceful, elegant rosé, bursting with cherry, strawberry and watermelon flavors and a lovely, persistent aroma. Our California Rosé finishes long and clean, with a touch of minerality shining the spotlight on the coastal vineyards where the Pink Tutu grapes were harvested.
California wine country straddles the line between history and tradition, and technology and innovation. Here in these sunny vineyards timeless mixes with modern, and old traditions are constantly elaborated with new ideas. Such is the case with Pink Tutu, a unique rosé blend made from mostly California Cabernet grapes.
The result of this bold experiment is a wine that is both unique and familiar, extraordinary yet comforting. California Pinot Noir country is internationally renowned for the elegant, vibrant, food friendly that these coastal vineyards produce. Pinot Noir has truly found a foothold in these rolling hills, where the vineyards are planted along the ridge tops that eventually cascade down to the Pacific Ocean below. Pinot Noir thrives in California’s well-aerated, sandy soils; producing medium-bodied, feminine-styled versions that achieve flavor ripeness while still retaining freshness and plenty of varietal character. A combination of two heavy hitters in the world of wine – Pinot Noir and California – is real cause for a pensive moment with each glass of California Reflections.
California Reflections features classic Pinot notes of red cherry and strawberry along with a peppery, meaty savoriness. This contrast of sweet and savory works to balance Pinot's straightforward fruit with the spicy structure that California’s prime vineyard location expresses in its wine. California Reflections’ fruity, earthy core on the midpalate is followed by soft tannins and fresh acidity on the finish.
California Pinot Noir is like the little vinous engine that could – for decades it has been chugging along producing wines that are completely different, but just as compelling, as the best examples of Pinot found anywhere else in the world, to little fanfare or acclaim. But the secret is getting out, and increasingly the wine cognoscenti are turning their collective heads towards the West Coast of the U.S. to scratch their itch for elegant, lithe, super expressive, uniquely American Pinot Noirs at a fraction of the Burgundian price tag.
California Reflections embodies Pinot Noir’s ability to create a finished product that is more than the sum of its parts – fresh, bright, and energetic, you would never tell that each vintage involves a nail-biting tightrope act on the part of our vintners as they pray for enough meteorological clemency to finish the harvest. Brisk, tangy and fruit-forward, California Reflections Pinot Noir focuses on a balance of red fruit flavors, an earthy mid-palate, and a long, mineral-laden finish that evokes the wind-swept ridges where California Reflections was grown.

This delightful California Chardonnay has bright fruity aromas and flavors of apple, melon, and peach. The palate is creamy fresh, round, and textured, and Concrete Jungle finishes nice and easy.
California Chardonnay is at a crossroads. After a recent explosion in popularity and meteoric growth, it developed a reputation for producing overtly oaky, buttery versions at the expense of varietal purity and balance. Thankfully, the pendulum is swinging back, and the style is reverting to terroir-driven, pure, and true examples of what the state can do best.
Concrete Jungle aims to celebrate the strength and perseverance of the Golden State winemaker’s ability to adapt their stylistic dispositions and produce some of the very best examples of Chardonnay grown anywhere in the world, tailored to the particular taste of its fans. Concrete Jungle is a wine that takes influences from all of the classic styles that California can produce, as a result of the Concrete Jungle team’s careful selection of some of the best Chardonnay vineyards in the state.
